GOD!!!!
This week when I found out that the GOP decided to hold secret meetings with the Vikings to propose a ROOFLESS STADIUM, I pretty much threw my hands in the air and said, "Well, that's it then!!! And so did DFL Governor Mark Dayton. He called the GOP idea "hairbrained", which it truly was. I mean, really?????? NO ROOF???!
But then GOP met with DFL Governor Mark Dayton and said, "Ok, maybe we can have a roof", and Dayton said "Great, let's vote on it" I'm sure there were other things discussed other than the roof, but it seems like maybe the two sides were a little closer together. MAYbe...
We Minnesotans have been dealing with this for over a year now. Back and forth backbiting, partisan infighting, and pure unadulterated bullshit and lies.
Arden Hills, then a new location in Minneapolis, then back to Arden Hills, then the old stadium location with a new staduim, then Arden Hills, then back to the old stadium location with a refurbished stadium, then back to Arden Hills, then... well, you get the pictures.
On top of that back-and-forth junk, we've been dealing with fighting about how to fund it, whether to fund it, how much we should make the Vikings pay, how much we should make the city of Minneapolis and Ramsey county pay, using electronic pull-tabs, not using electronic pulltabs, creating "user fees", using the rainy day fund, blahblahblah ad nauseum.
So now, here we are today. There will be an up-or-down vote in the House on Monday and everybody can vote on it. Yesterday House Speaker Kurt Zoellers actually went on the radio saying "I hope it succeeds but I won't vote for it". What?! How does that even make sense? Oh, he also says that if it fails, it's the Governor's fault. He's doing pretty much everything he can to kill it without seeming to kill it, but he "wants it to succeed".
I think it's hysterically funny that the GOP... the SAME GOP who can't pay its bills, the SAME GOP who is being faced with eviction from their party headquarters...thinks that they have a better idea on how to build, fund, and maintain the stadium.
At this point, I am so frustrated that I couldn't give a rat's ass less if the current stadium burned to the ground and the Vikings moved to L.A. Really. I'm not kidding.
